Default Changing network settings

Hi,
how do I change network settings in Ubuntu Studio 10.04 desktop. I go to system --->Administration--->network tools, choose mt network card (eth0) and configure, then i het network settings with 3 tabs "general,dns and host". how do i change the settings to a static ip addres and then join a windows domain
