add vsftpd to ispconfig

i have a ubuntu 9.10 server running ispcongis 2 and hosting 3 sites...useing proftpd.


problem is very slow transfer rates. i am getting complaints of speeds of 700k. i have read that vsftpd is way faster then prodtpd..


now i have add these lines to the config file in /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf

UseReverseDNS off

this made no difference in the speeds

is there something else i could do to increase the speeds?

is vsftpd supported on ispconfig2 and is there a way to add vsftpd without having to reinstall ispconfig 2

i have read that i can install vsftp just need to know how to configure it so it can be seen in ispconfig and not see proftpd
