Postfix mail is bounced
Hi all,
I can send mail from the domain using "UebiMiau", but I cannot recieve mail. This is what the sender gets back from my mailserver: (exept from mail addresses, they are altered)
This is the Postfix program at host localhost.localdomain.
I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.
For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>
If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message.
The Postfix program
<ulla_at_darth.qrup.dk> (expanded from <ulla_at_qrup.dk>): mail for darth.qrup.dk
loops back to myself
This is what mail.log states:

In ISPconfig I have created one client and one site. There is one email user (ulla) in the site. The site has one co-domain which has an empty 'Hostname' field.
I have looked at other posts, but they do not seem to apply to my problem. I hope someone can help me.
/Qrup

Hi again,
I've looked, but I cannot find out what is wrong. I hope for someone to help me solve this problem.

Another question: What does this do? "/bin/hostname -F /etc/hostname".
It might have something to do with my problem, because I don't think it went ok during the install. in /etc/hostname it saies "darth.qrup.dk" which is my server domain name. But /bin/hostname cannot be read... and is not supposed to I guess (yes, I'm a noob).
Who ever helps me solve the problem gets a beer at "The happy Pinguin" here in struer, Denmark ( http://www.pingvinen-struer.dk/ )

Still no success
I found these problems in "main.cf" while running the postfix configuration (sarge 3.1 perfect setup) again. Does anyone know why this was wrong? Was it some misconfiguration when I installed?
This was not set to my domain:
myhostname = localhost.localdomain
and this was commented out:
#mydestination = darth.qrup.dk, localhost.qrup.dk, localhost
I had problems starting saslauth, but after I killed the processes then I could start it.
But When I answer (at work) a mail send from a user on the server I still get this problem:
Reporting-MTA: dns; darth.qrup.dk
X-Postfix-Queue-ID: 2B0F48C4E7
X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; thomas.michelsen_at_ericsson.com
Arrival-Date: Wed, 3 May 2006 11:25:31 +0200 (CEST)
Final-Recipient: rfc822; ulla_at_darth.qrup.dk
Original-Recipient: rfc822; ulla_at_qrup.dk
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; mail for darth.qrup.dk loops back to myself
I'm clueless

Problem solved!
I also ran the "Courier-IMAP/Courier-POP3" part of the Perfect Setup DEbian Sarge 3.1 again. This has solved my problem. No I can both send and recieve mail.
Well ... I guess I'll have to buy myself a beer at "The Happy Pinguin".

This means that you must add darth.qrup.dk to /etc/postfix/local-host-names and restart Postfix. Anyway, you seem to have found out yourself.

and this was commented out:
#mydestination = darth.qrup.dk, localhost.qrup.dk, localhost
That happened to me too. On Debian install. On Fedora Install it was ok.

Confusion during setup
I was very much in doubt if I was doing something wrong when setting up the "saslauth" part. The comments at the bottom of the page saies that I would fuck up if I followed the guide. There is no answer to the comments from Falko, only from an Anonymous person. I followed the guide fully and I got a working system, but I can't help thinking if my problems was caused by the "saslauth" part or if it was something else.

If you read this Falko, then please consider to reply the comments on page 4. Your comment on this is quite valuable to new installees.

Don't care too much about these comments. There's always someone who thinks he knows it better. The tutorial is working exactly as I wrote it. Period.
