Default Missing Proftpd after Ubuntu 9.10 Upgrade (ISPConfig 2 Perfect Server)

Just a heads up,

After following the Perfect Server upgrade How-To for Ubuntu 9.10, my ftp service failed to start. All other services started fine and my websites were reachable.

I finally realized that the Ubuntu 9.10 upgrade actually uninstalled proftpd from my system, but left my config files intact althought it never prompted me to uninstall proftpd. I just reinstalled proftpd and my problem was solved.

Hope this saves someone some troubleshooting.

Dave
