USB modem installed - how to setup & connect ?

I have a USB sagem modem installed under FC5. The driver comes precompiled in fc5 and i've installed the ueagle firmware.
According to
/var/log/messaages the modem is operational with firmware version 44e2ea17;
cat /sys/bus/driver/ueagl-atm/3-1:1.0/human_status gives "modem is operational"

Network Config has a device ADSL-USB modem bit only shows ethx for "access/mounting" to it. The modem is in USB connector 3-1.

If you have a USB modem under FC5 can you pls lead me through the steps to allow connection to the inet.
