I think that I havE over-stepped my Linux knowledge on this one!

I have been trying to install a cacher for php5 on a debian Lenny perfect server using falko's tutorial for the base system. I had installed xcache, but I uninstalled that and used eAccellerator. eAccellerator is not compatible with my version of php5 because I have installed the dotdeb.org updates to the system. I got rid of eAccellerator and apache2 restarts now, but none of the sites are connecting because php is missing the mysql extensions.

I have went through several forums to figure this out, but I have had no luck. The appropriate lines are uncommented in all php.ini files.

How can I fix this? Is there a way to completely reinstall php5 from scratch? I don't want to lose any of my sites that are on the server!

Have you installed php5-mysql package?

You can't loose the sites if you reinstall php.

Yes the package is there. It seems that a relationship is missing somewhere.

What is the best way to remove and then reinstall php5?

Any other ideas on this? My sites are not functioning because of this.

I uninstalled everything dealing with php5 by running this command:

apt-get remove --purge php5*

and then I reinstalled everything from the ISPConfig3 Perfect Server tutorial.

Any other things I can do? My sites are not functioning properly because of this.

What is the error you are getting when you type the url of the site? Is it PHP related or ?

The error for one site is this:

The other sites are drupal CMS installs. They get this error.
