Have a look at the quota section on http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_suse_9.3_p4

thank you falko for your response.

the version on perfect setup is 9.3 so i changed the ftp destination to 9.2 to reflect my version:

ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt...2.rb0.i586.rpm

and then i entered:

ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt...2.rb0.i586.rpm

and it took. then following the perfect setup i installed some software and deactivated SUSE's firewall.

however i could not install some packages..and when i run apt-get install quota i get an error:

linux:/ # apt-get install quota
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package quota
linux:/ #

could it be at the ftp site not having quota for 9.2?
