Default Raid 1 set up question

I followed direction on this Howto...:
http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-ins...software-raid1

and the set up went fine... but when I come to the section
"Making every drive bootable"
I totally don't get it. It says to "do the following" but it does not say where to do it..

p.s. I am not using a GUI at this point but I am not very well versed in Bash.

Just do this on the command line - doesn't matter which directory you are in.

... I think I was not identifying the hard drive correctly... so that is why it was giving me an error. I found a command to list the hardware so I should be able to get it right on Monday. Thank You!
