Default debian 2.6 upgrade

Hi folks
i have debian 3.1 sarge and i want to upgrade to 2.6 kernel ,
(2.6.14 beacuse i want to add grsec) ...my question is
can i use .config file from my old 2.4 kernel in new 2.6 kernel (make old config) .
Is there by any problems/errors? is that safe?
i dont have expirience to manualy set all options in make menuconfig so i want my working config file in 2.6 kernel.

No, you cannot use a kernel 2.4 config.
