Ispconfig 3rc2 and IMAP/POP3

Running ispcnfig 3rc2 works fine in Fedora 9. I just can't get IMAP/POP3 to authenticate? I know courier should be authenticating with mysql but am I missing something? I following the fedora9 guide.

I'm just using regular thunderbird to connect to IMAP. It never takes my password..

Please take a look at the maillog. Also be aware that fedora support is just experimental and may not work. The recommended and stable linux distribution for ispconfig is debian.

The maillog shows that it can't authenticate-

I understand Fedora is experimental, so I don't mind if things like this happen. I see that courier is now used in ispconfig3 and dovecot was used in ispconfig2. Maybe courier is not authenticating to the correct database?

Was ISPConfig 2 installed on the same server before without a complete formatting everything before you installed ISPConfig 3?

no, it's a brand new server, new hardrive.

I was logging in just using just the username, which failed. I had to use the full email address. It does make sense because it's handling virutal users where in ISPconfig2 it wasn't.

I'm getting a new error now when I log in with squirrelmail. The side navigation bar shows mysql errors:

ERROR:
ERROR: Could not complete request.
Query: CREATE "Sent"
Reason Given: Invalid mailbox name.

any ideas?

Fedora support in ispconfig 3 is experimental and was broken in the rc2 release. You can try to update to the latest svn version as several problem with fedor has been fixed in the meantime.
