WINSCP and Putty will not connect

Dear all,

I am always working with putty and winscp from my windows vista machine to Ubuntu now 8.10 servers.

Today I went on with further installing ISPconfig and all of the sudden I cannot connect to my server with ISP installed through putty and winscp.

However I can use rsync with SSH without any problem.

So what can I do wrong, I have not added yet a record by the firewall ( I complete removed Bastille, to many errors in the logs when starting) and I am also not using DNS (I have installed BIND9 and ISP is claiming that mydns is installed) so in my believe there can be no problem.

What I find also strange is that I cannot see any problems in the system error logs.

Can somebody help me out here ?

If you have still access to the server with monitor andd keyborad, then take a look at the auth.log and syslog to see what error occurs when you login.

Problem was in known hosts after deleting the keys in there everything worked again.
