Default Raid Setup

Hi all, i am running Ubuntu 8.10 on a 40 gig HD. I LOVE IT
all is working great and having no problems at all.

I installed a Via Raid card on the motherboard with 2 1tb drives. If i go into the window control panel in boot up and setup the raid on the hardware card, ubuntu will not see the drives in the computer. But if i dont put the two drives in a raid in the hardward card, ubuntu sees the two drives but cannot mount them. HOW TO setup hardware raid for backups..

Thank you in advance.

Joey
