Thumbs up Ubuntu Server

Hi,
I have just installed Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS. I want to create 2 groups and in each group,i want 5 members with different authentication.for ex. 1 user with full rights & the other 4 with limited rights. And i want to login into the 5 user accounts from windows xp client machine.and a user from 1 group should be able to view the other groups data but should not modify it & another user from the 1st group should be allowed to modify the data of another group & the 3rd user should be allowed even to view the data.

Can anyone help me in solving this issue.

Are you talking about Samba (i.e., a file server)?
