Default SuExec

A Note On SuExec

If you want to run CGI scripts under suExec, you should specify /var/www as the home directory for websites created by ISPConfig as Debian's suExec is compiled with /var/www as Doc_Root. Run /usr/lib/apache2/suexec2 -V, and the output should look like this:

Do users normally add pages to /var/www. By default on debian it is in /home. I'm just wondering why it is setup this way?

No, the default location is /var/www. When you set up a fresh Debian system with an Apache, and you access Apache with a web browser, the standard page that appears is served from /var/www.
