Question Developing for certain distribution only

Hello there,
I have made some custom additions to my ISPConfig 2.x and I was thinking of maybe contributing some of those to the official release (if wanted), because upgrading and then patching the upgraded code each time gets on my nerves.
However I cannot test / have no experience with all the distributions supported by ISPConfig.
Therefore my question: is it possible to include certain stuff for certain distributions only or what's your opinion about that?
[ISPC 2 / Debian Lenny]

Thats a bit problematic as ISPConfig has to work completely on all supported platforms. If you make your additions are configurable to be enabled and disabled trogh a setting in config.inc.php and set them to disabled by default, they can be added into the normal ispconfig version.

Get ISPConfig support and the ISPConfig 3 manual from ispconfig.org.
