email size limit

Hello

I have a question hope someone can direct me to a place to find the answer.

I used one of Falco's howto's
The Perfect Setup - Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Server (Dapper Drake).

I have been trying to figure out how to send and recieve emails larger than 4 MB and I have had no luck.
set up just like how-to plus ispconfig, I thought ispconfig should set mail box size however it does not effect it.

I am currently installing a new server using Falco's The Perfect Server - Ubuntu Hardy Heron (Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server) so this may not be an issue after finished but would like to know what the problen was.

Have a look at the message_size parameter for postfix in main.cf. Perhaps it is set too low.

I tried that however it was my understanding when using Ispconfig it should be set to 0

What are the outputs of

postconf -n | grep message_size_limit

and

postconf -d | grep message_size_limit

?

from the first I get no responce, the second it say 10240000.

However this is a new install using ( perfect-server-ubuntu 8.04-lts) by Falco
this may be different than the other install ( perfect-server-ubuntu 6.06-lts)
I am not finished testing this new install, but I do want to find out how to set email limits. Myself and a few friends I want to be able to send up to 100 mb but keep everyone else at 10 mb. I set up a special website with FTP to get around this and had disasterous results.

This means emails can be up to 10MB in size.

Ok, it's not a quota problem.
Are you using Maildir or mbox?
