Copying the /web folder

I am transferring a website from one server to another...nothing fancy, so I just set up the same website on the new server and replaced the web folder with the one from the old server. I worked fine except when I try to upload files, I get permissions errors. Any ideas? Is there a better way to copy one website's files from one server to another?

You will have to chown the folder and all files and folders inside to the admin user of the new website after you copied the folder.
