Default After an update, nameserver became a mess

After I did an apt-get update, apt-get upgrade on perfect debian etch server, when I tried looking up my DNS records from network-tools.com:

mydomain.us is just a representation of my true domain.

It used to be running smoothly and displaying correct records, not it's displaying this:

Retrieving DNS records for mydomain.us...

Quote:
DNS servers
ns18.zoneedit.com [72.9.106.68]
ns9.zoneedit.com [66.240.231.42]
ns1.mydomain.us [122.3.145.47]

DNS server returned an error: Name server failed

Answer records

Authority records

Additional records
what went wrong, and what did I do wrong?

Please try to restart the nameserver and then look into syslog for errors.

Ok, this means that bind is started. Please check with:

netstat -tap

if bind is really running. If it is running, query the local server for your domain:

dig @localhost mydomain.us
