Default vsftpd

Hi,

can you help I try the vsftpd server, from local I can connect to it. bu from outside keep getting this

Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,2,180,24,49)
Status: Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead.
Command: LIST
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

Did you try active mode as well in your FTP client?

Hi Falko,

I used the fizilla client, and it work fine with regular ftp, I follow your guide for the centos 5.1 using proftp it work fine.

Now I want to test it with this vsftp, I try both passive and active still get the same thing, I did google, came to several info, may realted to ports and nat. strange.

Any way, I came across one of you guid proftp for debain useing tls. can this be done on centos.

What's in /etc/vsftpd.conf? Did you forward the ports 20 and 21 from your router to the server?

Basically yes, although I cannot say what has to be changed in the guide to make it work on CentOS.
