Default ProFTP "Permission denied"

I get this error spit into /var/log/syslog after a cennectiontry to my ftpserver:

proftpd[pid]: - notice: unable to resolve '~/': Permission denied
proftpd[pid]: - vw6_google chroot("~/"): No such file or directory
proftpd[pid]: - error: unable to set default root directory
I have followed the "Debian 3.1 perfect..." setup.
Have a feeling about something have whent wrong by my side

Please post your /etc/proftpd.conf file.
