Default Need to BIND doc

I am building a lab simulating an ISP for my own edification.

Trouble comes in the form of DNS at the moment. My Red Hat bible and DNS and BIND books differ on how to configure DNS (for external users). Currently I am receiving errors when I run named-checkconfig.

I'd like to sort this out for myself but could use a good current reference for BIND/DNS.

I am running Fedora 8. I can't recall the version of BIND (forgot the command to show the version).

Any links or suggested reading would be appreciated.

Regards,
Dale
