Default 'locate' doesn't work

I got a new box built in centos 5.1. I think I have installed almost everything necessary to make a server. However, when I use 'locate' to find something through SSH as root, I got this error:

Quote:
[root@dealspiggy ~]# locate proftpd
locate: can not open `/var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db': No such file or directory

Hi dealspiggy,

before you can use the "locate" command for the first time you have to execute

Code:
updatedb
Afterwards "locate" is ready for use.

Best regards,

Olli
