Default Debian Desktop Client to login to Samba Server PDC

I have been searching all over but failed to find information on how to join a debian etch gnome desktop / gdm to logon to my PDC that is running samba on centos.

My windows clients can join the domain and login fine. But I can not seem to find informationon how to configure a debian machine to do the samething.
I want to be able to:
  1. login to domain from gdm
  2. auth accounts againt the PDC
  3. map the shares off the PDC

Thanks in advance
