Default How to call a header page in the template

Hi All
I have a problem i am using a template in knowledgebase using a header custom designed when i press advanced search page where the header is not displayed

We are using a header footer for the front end of the knowledgebase. if i select search option in the site how to include top and footer for entire site if i made the changes in client/skin/view_default/default/top.html

it is not applying for the entire site the header is not applying


Please help me how to include header and footer for entire site if we add top and footer it should apply to entire site how can i do this? this is my question?
