Default Denyhosts

How can i prevent my owb ip to be added to hosts.deny ?
I tried o make a file called allowed-hosts and type my ip in but i keep getting added because i was stupid enough to mistype the first time i tried to connect to my server

What's the outputs of

updatedb
locate denyhosts
? There's some kind of database from which you must remove the IP.

After bieng locked out of my own server twice the same week by denyhosts i decided to find an alternative.

Try fail2ban or Blockhosts.
