email client configuration

Hello,

What are the settings to use for outlook and outlook express, most of my customers use these email clients.

I am having trouble logging in to send smtp mail and also having problems with sending mail to client's email account that I setup to test.

Is there anything in dns I should be aware of.

In outlook you have to check the checkbox that the SMTP Server requires
authentification. The Passwords are the same as for POP3.

The username is something like web1_admin, not the email address!

is there any way to alter this to a more friendly format easily? ie uname = email address instead of www_uname?

The usernames are Linux system users, and Linux does not accept email addresses as usernames.
