there is an MySQL warning but I am not sure is if it's relevent as it says it can connect to the database fine?

Did you install the mysql database dump manually? If yesm you will have to reinstall ISPConfig and make sure that the database you choose for ISPConfig to install does not exist. ISPConfig will create the database itself.

I followed the howtoforge perfect setup except I added phpmyadmin and I think that I did create the database certanly on the second install it was already there so I have to start over a third time?

Then you will have to reinstall ISPConfig, but not reinstall the server of course.

Run:

rm -rf /home/admispconfig
rm -rf /root/ispconfig

and delete the directory that has the same name then the ispconfig database in the directory /var/lib/mysql/

Then unpack and install ISPConfig again.

This is a bad idea because ISPConfig will not be able to create and manage the customer databases anymore.

ok this is fine just as long as I know! I could not find /var/lib/mysql/ispconfig "ispconfig" being my database but I did delete it with phpmyadmin is that enough??
