Hi, I upgraded ISPConfig yesterday, and now it seems that any Emails sent to the server are bounced with the message:

"This is the mail system at host SFG-GW.sfgweb1.net.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

The mail system

<thelawrencebarn1.com-gary@SFG-GW.ded.ameritech.net> (expanded from
<gary@thelawrencebarn1.com>): Host or domain name not found. Name service
error for name=SFG-GW.ded.ameritech.net type=AAAA: Host not found"

It is worth noting that I had changed the name of the server several days prior to this, and "SFG-GW.ded.ameritech.net" was the original name and "SFG-GW.sfgweb1.net" was the new name.

It might also be possible that the server had never been rebooted after this, which might mean the problem wasn't related to the upgrade at all.

Anyway, it seems like it has to be something simple, but I have been poking around and haven't found it as of yet. Anyone have pointers as to where I should look?

You must create an A record for SFG-GW.ded.ameritech.net.
As a temporary workaround, you can add SFG-GW.ded.ameritech.net to /etc/hosts.

Thanks for the reply, I tried the latter but it doesn't seem to have helped.

The thing is, I do not wish for the name SFG-GW.ded.ameritech.net to be anywhere - I am not really even sure where it came from; I think it was appended at some point from my ISP's servers? I dont' know.

At any rate, I want it to be named SFG-GW.sfgweb1.net; is there a way to tell find what is requesting the name SFG-GW.ded.ameritech.net and change it there?
