It is asking for the password of the first user that you created, which is able to become root user under ubuntu.

So do you mean root? I enter the root password and I keep asking me for more passwords

It's not asking for the root password, but for the password of the user that is running sudo.
|

Why does it need to sudo yum? yum is not a user in my CentOS at all.
