Hi,

after following the setup steps in this tutorial, I got errors on configuring MySQL:

mysqladmin -h knownpc.somedomain -u root password blabla returns:

mysqladmin: connect to server at ´knownpc.somedomain´ failed
error: ´Access denied for user ´root´@´localhost´ (using password: NO)´

So what shall i do here, or is the guide wrong?

No, the howto is correct, but it might be that there is no root account for this hostname in mysql. You can skip this command and follow the rest of the howto. When you finished, please check that all root accounts have a password, e.g. with phpmyadmin.
