Default About Vyatta

Hi folks,

Vyatta - the midrange routing software
http://www.vyatta.com/download/index.php

There are 2 editions;
# Vyatta Community Edition 2
# Vyatta Subscription Release 2.0

What will be the feature and function differences between these 2 editions?

Are there other similar open source projects? Tks.

This is what I've found at the bottom of http://opensource.qwertzy.com/vyatta.php :

Quote:
You must be very careful about what Vyatta indicates on its web site about the Community Edition: "Patches and bug fixes every 6 months only".
We can understand that the Subscription Edition owns more features than the Community Edition but have some problems to understand why some critical bugs would be solved only for the Subscribers.
This link has more details: http://www.vyatta.com/products/index.php

Hi falko,

Tks for your info.

I think Vyatta is for replacing Cisco router on ISP's and datacenter.

Other projects are
Quagga Routing Suite (Open Source)
http://www.quagga.net/about.php

Juniper JUNOS (proprietary)
