Ubtubtu lamp server ftp problem

It will allow me to log in but it limits me to the home director of my main account. I need to be able to upload into the www directory in apache.

Does anyone know how to do this?

as root edit the /etc/passwd file and change your user home directory path to /var/www

Or better create a new user with the home directory /var/www. If you cahnge the home directory of a existing user you will most likely break the current setup of this user.

I ended up formatting and starting over. As far as i know this issue has been fixed. How do i close this thread, or dont you do that here?
