Default Update CLAM and Spamassassin

I'm running 2 servers (Postfix, Amavis, Sarge howto) and just setup an Ubuntu webserver. What is the proper was to ensure clamav and spamassassin are always up to date?
I just noticed no clam-update logs.
freshclam gives warning at level 4 out of 10.
apt-get install clamav or apt-get update clamav? Anything I should look out for?

You don't say which Ubuntu version you have, but I suspect 6.06. freshclam reads from the latest repositories the updates. And 6.06 is a bit older. For these type of utilities, it could be an option to use the Ubuntu 'backports' repository. Search for 'Ubuntu backports' or start at http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=47
