Default Debian 3.1 Related problems!

I followed the tutorial exactly, but when i arrive at step 3 , I try to edit the /etc/network/interfaces and I get a this response. Here is the exact message after typing in /etc/network/interfaces
-bash: /etc/netwok/interfaces: Permission denied

Any help is appreciated.
Thx in advance!

Please use a command line editor to edit that file (I guess you're using an editor on your desktop now). Also have a look at this thread: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=531
