Media change: please insert the disc labeled
'Ubuntu-Server 6.06.1 _Dapper Drake_ - Release amd64 (20060807.1)'
in the drive '/cdrom/' and press enter

I have the cd-rom in the drive and the cd rom works well because I installed the OS with it. I also uncommented out the default repositories in /etc/apt/sources.list.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

It's a temporary failure, so it's possible it now working again. If not: what's in your /etc/resolv.conf?

There was a syntax error in my hosts file. I looked it over twice before saving it but I still didn't catch it.

Thanks for the reply.
