Thanks for all of the help. I had someone with more Linux knowledge than I help me out and it appear s that my issue stemmed from a combination of an automatic update of maildrop and filters in place by my ISP.
I'm not absolutely sure what the update broke. I think it is the way that maildrop works with postfix. But we 'downgraded' it and emails began to go through.
But forwarded emails still weren't being delivered to my home address. I found my ISP has filters in place to prevent businesses from using a residential internet plan.
