Pear Path Problem

In my joomla installation the path to pear package is showing like



but the same is not working, but in site open_basedir setting when I include the path for pear like

the pear works perfectly. So I really can't understand the problem in the include path given in joomla installation.

is it the ".: " preceding the path creating the problem?

Again the major problem now I am facing now is that when I am inserting the path in open_basedir for subdomain vhost, the line inserted is getting stripped and I cannot use the pear for sub-domain website.
