Is there any lenght limitation in CNAME fields?

I cannot enter a google apps verification CNAME:

If I remember correctly, there is a lenght limitation in 3.0.4.6 which has been raised in 3.0.5, I think the oldlimt was 64 chars so it was above the limits that google uses anyway.
