Can't get Pure-FTPD working

Hi All,
I've been trying to get the FTP to work but to no avail.

When i did a status check it showed:

root@rs-328:~# quotacheck -avugm
quotacheck: Ihr Kernel unterstützt wahrscheinlich Journalquotas, aber sie verwenden sie nicht. Vielleicht sollten sie auf Journalquotas umsteigen, um nicht mehr quotacheck nach jedem unsauberen Herunterfahren ausführen zu müssen.

More About the Server:
Ubuntu 10


When I checked on ISPConfig3 it seems all services are working with the exception of FTP Server

Perhaps someone who has encountered the above error message will be able to help.

Hi Till

Any ideas where could I find info to solve my problem.
I have a problem in getting webmail to show up as well as to get the FTP working.

Perhaps I should try adding users manually and then establish if the FTP server is running or not.

The info you posted above is about quota and it is not related to pure-ftpd. So if you have a problem with ftp, then please take a look at the pure-ftpd log file and if you have issues with email, then take a look at the mail.log file and post the errors.

Btw, ist this a virtual server?

I am checking on the error logs I think it is something to do with the vhosts file as the domain.tld/webmail is showing a Error 500 page.

As for the FTP i will need to check the logs.

It is a new dedicated server and its our first time working with ISPConfg3.

for example for the FTP connection it showed in error logs as

Jul 3 20:05:25 rs-328 pure-ftpd: (?@port-92-193-17-121.dynamic.qsc.de) [WARNING] Authentication failed for user [estevoflex-page-com]

Though the username is correct and the password as well.

After we made some more updates, we can even get through beyond connection

e.g.
Jul 3 20:05:01 rs-328 pure-ftpd: (?@localhost) [INFO] New connection from localhost
Jul 3 20:05:01 rs-328 pure-ftpd: (?@localhost) [INFO] Logout.

Thats the system monitor and not one of your logins.

Though the username is correct and the password as well.

Are you really sure? The username should have a prefix and you have to enter it with that prefix. The usernames with prefix are shown in the ftp user list in ispconfig.

Yup the username is correct.
The settings are like
FTP user prefix [CLIENTNAME]

When the client is
estevo

When the user is
flex-page-com

then the username for log is
estevoflex-page-com
