Suggestions for multiserver setup

Hi guys/girls,

I have a question which I have thought about for a while.
I'm about to setup multiserver environment (~4 servers).

I have thought about this setup:

1- web, db, mail, ns1
2- web, db, mail, ns2
3- web, db, mail, (maybe ns3)
4- web, db, mail, (maybe ns4)

or

1- web, db
2- web, db
3- mail, ns1
4- mail, ns2

What would you suggest? And why?

Also I would like the ISPC panel to be redundant. So that we can still access ISPC panel even though the (primary) ISPC panel server is down.
Or isn't this neccessary? Argue why not :-)

How would you do this?
1- setup master-master MySQL cluster?
2- or simply import/export/rsync the ISPC database to another server?
3- other ideas?

PLeasetake a look at the ispconfig documentation page, there you find guides for mirrored setups as well as setups were services are on different servers:

If the controlpanel shall be redundant,, then at least the controlpanel server must be setup as replication cluster like it is described in the cluster guide.

How you split your servers in web and mail systems is up to you. Personally I prefer to split it into mail and web servers.
