install my own name server howto?

Hi all,

I changed domain service providers, and just realized that they only provide name server redirects.

Now I need to add a name server to my existing LAMP server (ubuntu 11.04). My websites are currently down because of this.

Is there a how-to for this?

first you have to set up your nameservers (NS) in your control panel provided by the hosting company that you bought your domain to point to your server IP (public) address
after that you can install BIND or other DNS server and host your domain on your own box.

I have to provide a ""ns1.website.com & ns2.website.com" ?

Also, as a side question, will I be able to create my own subdomains with my new setup?
