Upgrading Fedora 15 to 16

HI,

I'm running Fedora 15 with ISPConfig 3 using perfect server instructions.

I'd like to upgrade to Fedora 16? Can I use http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-upgrade-from-fedora-15-to-fedora-16...and-server to accomplish this? Does this break my ISPonfig 3 installation? How can I accomplish this?

ISPConfig 3 doesn't work on Fedora 16, so you will break your ISPConfig installation.

No. But fedora dropped support for classic init scripts without providing a compatibility layer as all other distributions do and ispconfig requires these init scripts. Fedora is the testbed for new technologies from redhat so its not a classic server distribution anyway. So basically fedora moved away from Linux standard scripts and ispconfig has just not been rewritten to add support for fedora.

Debian and Ubuntu are the recommended distributions for ISPConfig, but thats the case since the ISPConfig development started. If you want to have a rock solid server without package and update problems, then use Debian or Ubuntu. You will see that you need much les maintenance time for your systems.
