Default FTP login not working

Hi,

I've just installed ISPConfig 3 on CentOS with Nginx following a guide here on the site.

I now have a problem with FTP users however, which do not seem to work.

1. I verified the username is correct including the username prefix
2. I've verified that these users are created in in ftp_user table in MySQL
3. I've verified that the username and password for MySQL in the pure-ftpd's config file works
4. In /var/log/messages I did see an error from pure-ftpd that complains about the MySQL server being down, but that error is old and continuing to try and logon etc doesn't seem to reproduce the message (actually I find it hard getting any kinds of messages saved in the log from the ftp server?)

Any help?

Thanks a alot

You can enable debugging / verbose logging in pureftpd:
