Default Multiple domain names pointing to one website

What is the simplest/tidiest way to point 50 domain names to one web site that is hosted on ISPConfig 3 ?

I had hoped to do it by adding A records inside ISPConfig for each domain name, i.e. by adding the A records to the DNS zone for the main web site that would be recieving the redirections. Then set each of the 50 domain registrar NS records to point to my ISPConfig public ip. This doesnt appear to work.

The main point being I dont want to make 50 web sites and domain zones in ISPConfig if I can avoid it.

suggestions please
