I have two Windows XP computers and I'd like to set up remote desktop between the two. What are the setup steps?

I think he didn't mean Windows (as this is a linux forum)

You can read this to understand 15 different remote desktop solutions for Linux.

Are both computers on same network or different network? If on same network, use Microsoft Default RDC tool. If on different networks, you need to use 3rd party tools such as logmeinrescue, gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc. or can even install on premise remote support appliance such as RHUB or Bomgar appliances.

Google provides a RD addon for Chrome. Just install Chome as browser and the addon and it's all fine:

It's convenient IMHO as you basically just only need to be able to run a browser
