Apache 2 - PHP - Override of directives?

Hello all,

I am using this in htaccess of a website

php_flag display_errors 1

but my browser continues showing a blank page instead of the page with errors... my server was prepared using "The perfect server debian 6 with ispconfig3 (with apache, courier, bind9, postfix, etc)

Some tip about it? how can I enable it?

Which PHP method have you selected in ispconfig for the website?

Fast-CGI for my virtual hosts (I can change this for every host I think, is not global for all sites, isn't?), but I though that this setting in htaccess files was a general config for Apache, and not por a PHP mod! (I am so newbie in this world....).

I want to use all types of PHP mods, how can I change for each one? If you have a link explaining the basics of each type of php mod installed in my system it would be fantastic
