Mailfilter failing sporadicly

We have a customer which setup a mailfilter, but it seems to fail sporadicly to match.

Simple rule:
if from some@email.ext
move to folder Y


Sometimes works, sometimes doesnt.

Any idea why? Also is there a log or something that can be investigated?

Make sure that you use "contains" and not "is" or "starts with". Otherwise the filter might fail if the sending email application formats the email differently.

They did try "contains" first, but that seemed to not work either.
Is there any log somewhere I can investigate, or the actual software used?

Did you check the mail log in the /var/log directory?
