Default mbox to maildir

I am not sure that I have a problem, more of a lack of understanding.

I have a server, Ubuntu 10.04lts running great with maildir using postfix and dovecot. No issues with sending and recieving email.

My issue is trying to get the old mail into the new format. I have been trying to use mb2md but I can't seem to be able to run the program as the proper user. I have tried following this little how to.

A little background on this is I got a new webserver going and moved a virtual server from an old mbox server to the new one, maildir.
just need the old mail to get put in the new maildir

Any help is much apreciated.
