I followed the tutorial but I ask myself the following question:

Is it necessary to configure Dovecot or Courier-IMAP for user authentication with table mail_user the database dbispconfig?.

Is this communication is all alone?

Debian Lenny ISPConfig-3.0.1-BIND Dovecot

Ok, the answer is simple, when you install ISPConfig checks that it is the server version IMAP/POP3 (Courier or Dovecot) and sets up files automatically.
