Question "PowerDNS Authoritative" or "PowerDNS Recursive"

Hi All,

I was just going to try PowerDNS, but when I reached the download page I got confused about which one to go for -- "PowerDNS Authoritative" or "PowerDNS Recursive".

Could someone please throw some light on it ?

If you want to host your own zones, you should probably download the authoritative server; if you just want to run a nameserver that can do lookups for other domains (e.g. as your ISP does), use the recursive one.
